Congratulations to the 2019 SDGA Golfers of the Year!
Male Co-Golfers of the Year - Chris Long, Garretson and Jeff Meyerink, Mitchell
Chris and Jeff both had banner years at SDGA Championships. Jeff defeated Chris in the finals of the Match Play. Chris had a victory at the Pre-Senior and three runner-up finishes at the Mid-Am, Match Play, and Pre-Senior Two-Man (Galen Vavra). Jeff won the Match Play, a runner-up finish in the Two-Man and 3rd in the Mid-Am Two-Man (Brandon Sigmund), and 14th at the Amateur.
Female Golfer of the Year - Katie Bartlett, Pierre
Katie came just one match away from a clean sweep of the Women’s Championships, with victories at the Amateur and the Two-Woman (Julia Hall), and a runner-up finish at the Match Play.
Senior Golfer of the Year Male - Bob Felker, Madison
Bob won the SDGA Senior, marking 44 years between SDGA Championships, having been the 11 & Under Boys Champion in 1975!
Senior Golfer of the Year Female - Colette Quam, Aberdeen
Colette won the Two-Woman (Julie King), and was the runner-up at the Women’s Senior by a single shot.
Junior Male Golfer of the Year - Jack Lundin, Sioux Falls
Jack won his second consecutive SDGA Junior Championship and followed it up with a victory at the Men’s Amateur becoming the second youngest Champion of that event.
Junior Female Golfer of the Year - Shannon McCormick, Sioux Falls
Shannon completed a rare double by winning both the SDGA Junior Championship and the Girls AA State High School Championship.
Tom was a two-time SDGA Champion, former Executive Director, and original SDGA Board of Directors member. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 2008. Read More
