Player Bio

Jason Young grew up in Pierre, where he excelled as a junior golfer and, under the tutelage of Mike Egan, developed a lifelong passion for the golf industry. He went on to have a standout career at Northern State University, earning three All-Conference honors and help lead his team to multiple appearances in the NAIA National Championship, along with capturing several individual titles. In 1992, he claimed the SDGA 2-Man Championship.

Jason became a PGA Member in 1998 and began his professional career at Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre, where he was instrumental in all aspects of operations. He distinguished himself as a premier instructor and as a respected mentor and coach to junior golfers.

He later moved to Rapid City to take the reins at the prestigious Golf Club at Red Rock, where he continued his leadership in golf operations and developed one of the region’s premier junior programs. Under his guidance Jason earned the SDGA Family Junior Program of the Year seven times at Red Rock and Hillsview.

Jason has always been a strong supporter of the South Dakota Golf Association, frequently hosting events and serving as the PGA Advisor to the SDGA Board. He also holds the distinction of having the most appearances of any player in the SoDak Cup.
