Mike Brummer became the 33rd person to be inducted into the SDGA Hall of Fame. His accomplishments on the golf course include 11 SDGA Championships. He has won the following championships: Match Play Championship in 1990 and 1999; Pre-Senior Championship in 1990, 1994, 1996, 2003 and 2004; Senior Championship in 2005 and 2006; Two-Man Championship in 2003 (with Pat Lockwood of Brookings); and Senior Two-Man Championship in 2006 (with Steve Pelzl of Aberdeen). In addition to his SDGA Championships, Mike is a two-time runner up in the SDGA Stroke Play Championship, a two-time runner-up in the SDGA Pre-Senior Championship, an 11-time Rapid City Amateur champion, a four-time Arrowhead Pro-Am amateur champion, an eight-time SoDak Cup participant, a two-time winner of US Open local qualifiers, and a USGA Amateur Public Links qualifier. Mike was the 1990 SDGA Male Golfer of the Year, along with the 1990 South Dakota Sportswriters Association Independent Athlete of the Year. He was Inducted into the Rapid City Sports Hall of Fame in 2002 and was the Rapid City Sports Amateur Athlete of the Year in 1982 and 1991. He was also named the Class B Region VI Golf Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2000.
