Ray Laird III

Ray Laird III became the 39th person inducted into the SDGA Hall of Fame. Ray is a six-time SDGA champion, including the 1986 and 1989 Men’s Amateur championships and the 1998-99 Senior championships. He was runner-up in the 1975 and 1977 Match Play championships. He has also competed in the US Amateur and US Mid-Amateur championships. In 1982 Laird III joined the USGA Junior Boys Committee, a position he still holds. In 1987 he joined the USGA Rules Committee, and he has officiated at the US Open, the US Senior Open, the US Junior Amateur and the US Amateur.
