Player Bio

Curt Byrum became the 40th person inducted into the SDGA Hall of Fame. Curt is currently a member of Golf Channel’s live tournament broadcast team, handling analyst duties for the network’s coverage of the Nationwide Tour, PGA TOUR and Champions Tour. Prior to joining the network in 2001, Curt competed for more than 15 years on the PGA TOUR, accumulating 19 top-10 finishes, highlighted by winning the 1989 Hardee’s Classic. As a member of the Nike Tour (now the Nationwide Tour) he recorded 18 top-10 finishes, featuring two victories — the 1999 South Florida Classic and the 1993 White Rose Classic. An All-American at the University of New Mexico, Curt returned to competitive golf in 2009 on the Champions Tour, making the cut in two of the three events he entered. During a stellar amateur career in South Dakota, Curt won the SDGA Men’s Amateur Championship in 1976, 1979 and 1980. He also won the 1979 Men’s Match Play Championship, one of only four golfers who have won the Men’s Amateur and Men’s Match Play championships in the same year.
